16 years on JKPCC yet to complete a bridge over a Nallah in Kupwara | KNO

Kupwara, May 21 (KNO) : Residents of Bohipora is up in arms against the JKPCC for failing to construct a bridge over Kehmil Nallah causing inconvenience to the farming community in the area. The residents say that even when the area is just few kilometres away however due to callous approach of the construction agency they have been forced to use alternate ways causing great inconvenience to community, and students. "We have pooled up money in the village to put the floorin on the bridge. Thats is the only thing we can do since authorities are of no interest to complete the works,” they said. Officials, have put the blame of incomplete work on paucity of funds and have promised that soon the works will commence again on the bridge.Mufti Irfan District General Manager JPCC told KNO that work on the bridge had to be halted. “We have defined the bridge in our report of incomplete works and hopefully funds will be released,” Irfan said.(KNO)
